SUMMARY:A Matter of Perception
DESCRIPTION:Discover the hidden dramas of people and situations through perspective and perception in a world created by Lin Shook and Perceptual Motion\, Inc. with guest artist Peggy Lamb. We are surrounded by dramas\, most of which we are unaware\, until something happens to link the bits and pieces together. It's all a Matter of Perception. See two premieres choreographed by Artistic Director Lin Shook. Guest choreographer Peggy Lamb has set a dance from her repertory on PMI dancers. Dancers are aged 24 to 85.\n\nChoreography by Peggy Lamb:\n\n Miss Goddess Goes to Tea Take a lively romp with Ms Goddess and her sassy followers through the streets of London as they ponder feminism\, God\, blowing bubbles\, dancing to the Dell Vikings and\, of course\, having tea. \n\nChoreography by Lin Shook:\n\nYes\, I Said NO (Nov. 2016) was inspired by politics\, channel surfing and the Women's Movement. Bullying\, dismissal\, threats and intimidation make the action of making one's voice heard a necessity.\n\nBy the Slice\, (premiere) is a suite of four dances. Abstract 1is an abstract dance in black against a white wall from which dancers emerge. In Peel\, 85-year-old Helene manipulates the dancers into revealing hidden sides of themselves. Restaurant of Desire. gives the viewer glimpses into the many untold stories within a restaurant. The suite ends with Cleanliness is Godliness\, as brooms and cleaning instruments are manipulated by rather unorthodox cleaning ladies to close the restaurant for the night. \n\nWhen the Stars Dance (premiere) is the winning idea of PMI's Your Ideas in Motion contest. The idea is from Lynn Flanagan and based on our perceptions of the night sky.
