SUMMARY:"Right of Bang: After the Trigger is Pulled" Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Owning a firearm is a responsibility. Carrying one is a bigger responsibility. But having to make a split-second decision to use up to and including deadly force to defend yourself or someone else\, determining who will go home to their loved ones that night\, is a decision no one wants to have to face. With a growing amount of offenders being juveniles\, the burden of making that decision can become too much to bear for many. It may not affect you that day\, that week\, that month or that year but somehow\, someway\, that trauma will present itself and affect you physically\, mentally\, emotionally\, financially\, spiritually\, even impacting personal or professional relationships. It can even lead you to attempt or complete "the long-term solution for a short-term problem"\, something that's all too common. Are you prepared for what comes after you pull the trigger\, commonly referred to as "Right of Bang"? During this seminar\, Darian\, the Owner and Lead Instructor of Continuum Firearms Training\, will go in-depth about his own personal journey\, being very vulnerable while making his story relatable to the civilian sector. A Mental Health Social Worker and Policy/Legislation Researcher by education\, having worked at the local\, state and federal levels of government\, he will then relay the tools and resources that are available for making it through the aftermath of a defensive shooting\, something the vast majority of firearm enthusiasts do not consider. As someone that has served overseas in a combat zone and has experienced these thoughts and feelings firsthand\, while having lost many brother- and sisters-in-arms with whom he's served after battling their own struggles\, this seminar is designed to prepare you for the realities of what can (and will) happen after you pull that trigger. Varying by class date\, Darian will also be joined by: a concealed carry insurance representative\; a city\, county or state-level law enforcement officer\; an attorney that practices in defensive shoots\; an expert witness on the escalation of force\; other mental health specialists\; an emergency room or trauma nurse\; a representative from The Illinois Department of Human Services and more. We will be honest\, vulnerable\, informative and blunt\, but most importantly\, we will prepare you for "Right of Bang".
