SUMMARY:What the Constitution Means to Me by Heidi Schreck
DESCRIPTION:Reviewed by the Chicago Tribune: 3 out of 4 stars!!!\n\nPlaywright Heidi Schreck's boundary-breaking play breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans. Fifteen-year-old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious\, hopeful and achingly human new play\, she resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives.\n\nDirected by Kaeli Meno\, we're staging it where the play itself begins: inside a working American Legion hall. A different actor takes the title role each night\, so no two performances are quite the same.\n\nHEIDI PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:\n\nAnne Trodden: Thu 10/1\, Weds 10/7\, Wed 10/14\, Fri 10/23\n\nAmanda Roeder: Fri 10/2\, Thu 10/8\, Fri 10/16\, Sun 10/25\n\nSamantha Garcia: Sat 10/3\, Sun 10/11\, Sun 10/18\, Thurs 10/22\n\nSalome Mergia: Sun 10/4\, Fri 10/9\, Thu 10/15\, Sat 10/24\n\nAt ALL performances:\n\nMike/Legionnaire: Michael Lomenick\n\nDebater: Maddie Rose Curtin\n\nWe're proud to present this production alongside our community partners:\n\nLeague of Women Voters of Chicago\n\nThe Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence\n\nChicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights\n\nA portion of all ticket sales will go to our community partners\, who fight these fights every day. We thank them for their advocacy throughout the city of Chicago.\n\nA note for audiences: the play includes discussion of domestic violence\, sexual assault of a minor\, and abortion. It runs about 90 minutes with no intermission and is recommended for ages 12 and up.\n\n \n\nWHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French\, Inc.\n\nconcordtheatricals.com
