Melissa Lagowski, principal at Northcenter Chamber members Big Buzz Idea Group, has been named one of 50 honorees forChicago Business Journal's 2016 class of Women of Influence. The Women of Influence program recognizes women business leaders in the Chicago area who innovate, succeed and "pay it forward."
And whether she's helping local nonprofits raise funds through festivals and events or sharing knowledge with the next generation of entrepreneurs, paying it forward is a key component of Melissa's approach to business. As she tells the Chicago Business Journal, "My commitment is not just to make myself better, but also to enrich the lives of everyone within reach. I believe in sharing knowledge and experiences with others so that we can all become the best version of ourselves possible."
Melissa started Big Buzz Idea Group in 2004 and helps to transform vision into reality by offering a variety of event management services. Big Buzz Idea Group works primarily with non-profit organizations, helping to plan, promote and implement events, including Ribfest Chicago, the Northcenter neighborhood's annual summer BBQ and music festival. Melissa is also a former Executive Director of the Northcenter Chamber!
