Mental Health First Aid (Adult)
Mental Health First Aid is a public education course that brings awareness to mental health issues by introducing participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews common treatments.
Participants will receive:
- a course manual and resource folder
- a 3-year certification in Mental Health First Aid (upon completion of the full 8-hour training)
- lunch during full-day trainings or light snacks during two-day trainings
Continuing Education
C4 offers continuing education credits for the following professionals who attend the Adult MHFA course:
- Human Resource Professionals through the Human Resources Certificate Institute (6.5 hours)
- Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Clinical Psychologists through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) (8 hours)
- Educators through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) (8 hours)
- Nurses through the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA) (8 hours)
*This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. *
Professionals certified through the Illinois Alcohol and Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) may petition for continuing education credits for a $10 fee. Visit the IAODAPCA website for information on the process.
