Nothing From Something
As of January 13th, our walls will again be craving public attention. New Talent and Art will be on display, and ready for public consumption. Possessed of the ability to see clearly through the noise and chaos of contemporary life, our featured artists create work which expresses the solitude of distance, the harmony of the human ballet, the euphoria of skyward contemplation. “Nothing From Something” celebrates that moment of clarity achieved through the realization of a perfect peace, no matter how fleeting. Elizabeth Bick, Halle Siepman, Charles Callis, Anne Kaferle, and Sam Chung are artists with impressive artistic output, esteemed show records, and strong academic chops. Bick’s photography, Callis’, Kaferle’s, and Siepman’s painting, and Chung’s ceramics reflect consummate knowledge and technical expertise of their media, translating into something astonishing and accomplished. Gallery19 offers patrons the opportunity to see these incredible young artists as they hit their stride, at a time when public support is most essential to their careers. The artists will be on hand to participate in Q&A, discuss their creative process, one on one, and to allow collectors to attach a face and personality to the extraordinary works they produce. “Nothing From Something” opens Friday, January 13, 6-9 pm. An artists’ talk will take place as part of the opening reception. Exhibition runs January 13 through March 11, 2017. Gallery19 at 4839 N. Damen Ave. 773-420-8071.
