WORKSHOPS
From navigating grant opportunities to getting your business certified with Cook County, a variety of useful workshops will be available at the Pathways to Cook County Summit. More detailed information is available below on the types of sessions being provided at the event.
Exploring Grant Opportunities at Cook County
The Justice Advisory Council and Bureau of Economic Development at Cook County are partnering in this workshop to provide information about navigating County grant opportunities. Specifically identifying types of grants offered by the County, common grant requirements and the importance of grant monitoring and compliance.
Capital Readiness 101: Acquiring Capital
This workshop is a must for business owners and entrepreneurs seeking to gain control over business finances. The Cook County Small Business Source in conjunction with the Women’s Business Development Center will provide guidance for acquiring capital – including grants, lines of credit, business cards and loans. Attendees will gain foundational knowledge for accessing capital and learn the benefits of partnering with the Small Business Source.
Getting Certified with Cook County
If you’re interested in learning how to become certified with Cook County, this workshop is for you. Representatives from the Certification Division of the Office of Contract Compliance will guide you through the certification process and provide information about contracting opportunities. This workshop is part of the OCC longstanding commitment of providing continuing education to the small business and vendor community.

Procurement 101: Contracting with Cook County
Join the Chief Procurement Officer to learn how to compete for County contracts. This workshop will provide information about current contracting opportunities and guidance for how to get started.
Job Order Contracting
This workshop is designed for prime vendors and subcontractors seeking information about construction opportunities within Cook County. Leaders from Contract Compliance, Procurement and Capital Planning & Policy will provide instructional guidance on how to establish a partnership with the County.
