Join Picosa on November 13th for "Beautiful Tango", music for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano at DePaul University's Holtschneider Performance Center. The evocative tango is a truly global art form derived from the Cuban Habanera with Argentinian and Uruguayan music and dance influences, originating from the African community in Buenos Aires and also possessing European musical influences. Picosa's program explores the many voices of tango with works by Uruguyan composer Miguel Del Aguila, Guatemalan composer Xavier Beteta, Brazilian American composer Clarice Assad, and Cuban American composers Paquito D'Rivera and Tania León.
