Story Jam is a live lit storytelling and music show which features truth-telling storytellers and a 10-piece band comprised of Chicago's most talented musicians. Presenting a diverse lineup of performers, Story Jam aims to entertain audiences and build bridges with funny and poignant personal stories involving relationships, culture, tragedy, race, identity, aging...and humanity. Emceed by Story Jam producer, Stephanie Rogers, this special anniversary show presents slam winners from all over the country, including: Ronna Levy (NY); Melissa Reaves (WA); Kory May (IA); Sean Wellington (NC); and Richard Munchkin (NV). Chicago tellers include: Nestor Gomez; Carmenita Peoples; Anne Purky; James Petersen; Melinda Hernandez; Lynne Jordan; Shane Hendrix; and Marya Morris. All of the talented storytellers are hand-picked to represent their unique perspectives. The Story Jam Band features some of Chicago's finest touring pop, jazz, rock, and folk artists, including: Chuck Lacy on drums; Rafe Bradford on bass; Danny Shaffer on guitar; Fred Simon on keys; and Anne Harris on violin.
