The Joys & Challenges of Aging Book Club with Carrie Waller
Bloom’s 2024 book club is announcing its final three books for this year. The book club, facilitated by Carrie Waller, focuses on the joys and challenges of aging. It meets six times over the course of one year (once every other month) and features six books covering a variety of aging-related topics. You can view the final three books in the series below. Each two-hour session starts with a gentle yoga practice, transitions to a group discussion, and closes with a short meditation. These sessions enable participants to build connections with others in the Bloom community who share similar their love of reading.
July 22nd, Inheritance by Dani Shapiro
Inheritance, by Dani Shapiro, is a memoir that grips you from the very first page. Shapiro discovers that
her deceased father was not her biological parent, leading her on an extraordinary journey of self-
discovery. Shapiro's journey serves as a reminder that our sense of self is often shaped by the stories of those who came before us, but and that sometimes, the most profound discoveries lie within our own DNA.
