About Us

The German International School Chicago (GISC) is an independent, non-profit school offering a bilingual German-English education to nearly 200 students from Preschool through High School.
 
With small class sizes and an individualized approach, students develop strong academic foundations, creativity, critical thinking, and fluency in two languages. As an IB World School (PYP and MYP), GISC fosters inquiry-based learning and academic excellence from an early age.
 
The school serves a diverse, international community representing over 40 nationalities and welcomes students of all backgrounds – no prior German required through Grade 6.
 
Now expanding into High School, GISC will graduate its first class in 2030, further strengthening its commitment to a rigorous, globally oriented education in a close-knit, inclusive community.
